Eligibility Criteria:
LLB degree from a recognized institution
Minimum 10 years relevant legal experience in reputable organization or law firm
LLM and/or Barrister-at-Law qualification preferred
Strong expertise in Oil & Gas commercial documentation and regulatory frameworks
Proven experience managing litigation and external counsel
Excellent advisory, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

Requirements

- Excellent advisory skills for senior management on risk mitigation and compliance
- Strong relationship management skills with JV partners, government, and industry stakeholders
- High integrity, confidentiality, and strategic thinking capabilities
- Willingness to serve anywhere in Pakistan as per PPL requirement
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with PPL's business objectives and national energy goals
- Provide expert interpretation and guidance on national/international laws, petroleum regulations, and industry best practices
- Oversee all litigation matters across courts, judicial, and quasi-judicial forums to protect PPL's interests
- Manage external counsels with clear direction for cost-effective and successful outcomes
- Advise senior management on legal risks, compliance, and business lifecycle decisions in exploration and production
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial documents, JOAs, PSAs, and agreements specific to Oil & Gas business
- Cultivate collaborative relationships with joint venture partners, OGDCL, government ministries, and regulatory bodies
- Lead contract management, regulatory filings, corporate governance, and compliance initiatives
- Conduct legal due diligence for acquisitions, partnerships, bidding rounds, and major transactions
- Train and mentor junior legal staff and coordinate with cross-functional technical teams
- Monitor legal developments impacting Pakistan's energy sector and recommend proactive measures
- Ensure ethical standards, anti-corpliance, and legal compliance across all PPL operations nationwide
